Doula Association Of Ireland
The Doula Association of Ireland is a not-for-profit membership organisation that promotes, develops and supports doulas and the doula profession. The primary mission of the doula profession is to positively impact the childbearing experience for women and their families. Fundamental to doula care is the understanding that continuous emotional support and reassurance during labour and birth improves and enhances maternal satisfaction.
The Doula Association of Ireland (DAI) is a collective of trained, professional, independent, both birth and postpartum doulas, across Ireland. Doulas who are member of the Doula Association of Ireland make the commitment to follow a code of ethics, support and nurture each other in the profession, support and respect all families who need their services and also thrive to pursue continual education in their field.
The Doula association of Ireland currently has 60 active members in all the provinces of Ireland and is growing yearly. Some of the DAI's doulas are independent and others work with an agency or local collective. All doulas who are registered with the DAI follow the code of ethics and have professional training. Every year, more Doulas join the association, therefore bettering the options for support to families in their local areas. To find a Doula visit
